More Thorough Cleanup

We pay closer attention to high traffic zones near the patio, check edges along fence lines, and make sure no piece is missed in half-shade areas where dogs sometimes hide their morning routine.

Precise Timing

A normal weekly visit can land any day. A pre-event scoop has a specific target window. Too early and new waste accumulates before the event. Too late and we are working under deadline pressure. The sweet spot is the morning of the event or the afternoon before.

Higher Standard

The standard for a pre-event scoop is not "good enough for the family" — it is "ready for guests." Patio inspection and spot cleaning of any visible residue near the back door is included.

Evening Cookout (6–7 p.m.)

Ideal scoop window: 7 a.m. to noon on the day of the event. Gives six to twelve hours of buffer for the morning dog routine and a clean yard going into guest arrival.

Midday Cookout (1–2 p.m.)

Ideal window: afternoon or evening of the day before. The yard absorbs the overnight cycle and presents clean in the morning. Same-morning scoop for a midday event tends to introduce stress.

All-Day or Multi-Day Events

Two visits recommended: one the morning of and one the morning of the second day. Wedding receptions in particular need the higher standard — guests in nicer shoes, longer dresses, kids in dress clothes.

75–150 Eggs Per Cycle

A single laying female fly can produce 75 to 150 eggs per cycle. In July OKC heat, the egg-to-adult cycle runs 7 to 10 days. Waste left sitting before the party runs a small fly nursery.

Remove the Source

A pre-event scoop done the morning of removes the breeding source. The flies that already hatched cannot reproduce against an absent food supply. Fly pressure starts dropping within hours.

Consistent Feedback

The most consistent feedback we get from hosts after pre-event service: the fly count was lower than expected. By the time guests arrive, you have meaningfully fewer flies than you would have with no morning cleanup.

Date & Start Time

We need to know the day and time of the party so we can work backward and pick the right morning to be there.

Expected Guest Count

A cookout of 8–12 close family is different from a graduation party of 50–80. Cleanup priority shifts based on traffic patterns.

Dog Location During Event

If dogs will be in a kennel area during the party, we focus extra attention there. If they will be roaming, we treat the whole yard equivalently.

Special Zones & Requests

Hosts who know their dogs' habits can point us to the spots that matter most. We accommodate reasonable special requests and price accordingly.

Existing Weekly Customers

Typically billed at the standard rate. The yard is already at weekly baseline. Often there is no additional charge beyond the regular monthly bill — we just time the visit before the event.

One-Time Non-Customers

$50 to $120 depending on yard size and accumulation. The first visit on a property with several weeks of buildup will be at the higher end of that range.

Same-Day Rush Request

A modest premium when schedule allows. Less than 24 hours notice. We tell customers transparently what the rush is. Most of the time we can accommodate without a rush charge with a few days of notice.

The Host Actually Relaxed

The yard was not a background concern. Mental load dropped. The party started smoother because the host was not doing a last-second sweep at 5 p.m. while trying to manage three other prep tasks.

Guests Stayed in the Yard Longer

When the yard is clean and fly pressure is low, the social center of gravity stays outside. People settle into chairs, kids run around, the grill stays the focus. Yards that are uncomfortable push the party indoors.

The Next-Day Reset Is Easier

Cleanup after the party is just trash and dishes. The yard does not need a separate morning of work. Hosts who entertain frequently in summer often book a recurring weekly cadence after the first pre-event experience.

Can you handle a same-day request?

Sometimes yes. Depends on our schedule for the day. Call early — morning slots fill first.

Do you charge for last-minute cancellations?

More than 24 hours in advance: no charge. Inside 24 hours: half rate to cover the held slot. Weather cancellations handled case by case.

Does the dog need to be inside?

Not necessarily. We work around dogs daily. If the dog is friendly we proceed normally. If not, the dog should be inside or in a separate area during our visit.

What if it rains the morning of the event?

We still come. We work in light rain. For heavy storms we may shift the visit by an hour or two if there is flexibility. We coordinate with the host directly.
